Mihai Burca, our Bar Manager, joins us with a background in mixology and bar management including spells at Chewton Glen and The Pig hotels. His passion for his craft is reflected in our menu which is rich in creative processes and celebrates local and seasonal ingredients across a selection of contemporary and vintage cocktails.
When behind our bar, you’ll find him stirring up his favourite cocktails – a Negroni, Boulevardier, or Old Fashioned. When left to his own devices, he’s often found searching for beverage-led events or competitions, watching documentaries to gather inspiration for his next cocktail creations, or visiting cocktail bars and distilleries.
Alongside Mihai you will find Jose, General Manager of both Engel Bar and sister restaurant Jang. Jose has seen it all, from mastering the art of mixology, to moving into a managerial role across a range of high-profile restaurants throughout London during his 14 years’ experience at D&D London.
When heads are turned, catch him sipping on Der Blaue Engel from our menu, and in his down time spending time with family and friends and playing sports – football being a particular favourite (well he is Spanish…).
